About Us

Family-run, community inspired

Since arriving to the US in 2015, the Rawaos family sought ways to share a piece of their home in Syria with their new community in the Bay Area.

It took launching their own catering company, and learning the realities small business ownership in a pandemic to discover that their calling was coffee. Damask Rose opened its door in May 2022, motivated by the Rawoas family’s dream to build a space where the community can gather and reconnect over delicious Syrian-style food and drink.

Damask rose is such a magical place! Probably one of the most beautiful coffee shops I've been to. It is in a cute, walkable area as well. Their drinks and desserts are fantastic! The atmosphere is very peaceful and relaxing. It's nice to sit and enjoy the flowers. Staff is very friendly and kind too

Very cute place and not crowded! Coffee was good (I like mine black) and baklava was fresh and soooo good. Like that there is option to sit outdoors

Beautiful space! So clean and welcoming, with gorgeous decor. Bring someone special here for a delicious coffee and Syrian pastry. We also took away hummus and baba ganoush platters for lunch; I’m sure they will be tasty. This family ran a catering business that went out of business due to COVID shutdowns; this is their fresh start. I’m so glad to have them in the neighborhood
